General

Japanese are like groups. Often some Zähleinheitswörter only be used in a particular group.

The pure-Japanese figures only go to 10 After this Sino-Japanese counted on.

ほん is the measure word for cylinder-like objects. The word originates from the Chinese, the Japanese then it has also the word for book is derived. Books used to be in written form, cylindrical roller, now the measure word seems incomprehensible for books. For books will さつ used (し ょさつ = books).

If a subject more than one property, use the measure word for the more specific property. For example, stamp = small and flat → flat is special.

人: If the property is fixed. For example: Someone who has Japanese parents, is immutable, therefore: じん に ほん. The reading に ん is used for changing the facts. It is the example. also the extension of "dead": しにん (because they believe in reincarnation!).に ん is the Zähleinheitswort for people. Das Zählen von Personen ist aber anfangs unregelmäßig:
1 Person = One
2 Personen = Two Friends
3 Personen = I'm Yoni
4 Personen = usw.
Manchmal wird, wie bei'm Yoni, nur I, statt yon verwendet. Zum Beispiel auch bei: You yen (Yoen) = 4 Yen.
